Officials warn residents after reports of coyote near Avenues neighborhood

SALT LAKE CITY — Officials warned Salt Lake City residents to keep their pets leashed or indoors after receiving reports of a coyote in the Avenues neighborhood Saturday.

The Salt Lake County Animal Services received multiple reports of pets found deceased. These deaths were suspected to originate from wildlife attacks.

The warning was issued to Avenues neighborhood residents and the surrounding areas, it's not known where the specific incidents occurred.
